Injury Management Services
Job Function Matching (JFM) is the comparison of functional demands of the job with the functional capacity of the worker. By implementing this system your company would be reducing its risk of loss of valuable workers, as well as related financial costs, lost time, and disability.
Components of JFM:
1) Job Function Description: The essential functions of the job are delineated.
Force, movement, and position demands are quantified. The description
is validated by a qualified worker.
2) Job Function Test: The JFT is developed from the JFD, designed to
closely simulate the functional components of the job that require
strength, endurance, balance, reach/bend, and coordination.
3) Job Function Matching: A comparison of the functional abilities of the
worker or candidate to the physical demands of the job with specifics
on tasks that do not match as well as modifications. This is a great tool
for Work injury management, early return to work and disability
management. By identifying those tasks which a worker can
perform we are able to effectively communicate with physicians using
objective data to support early and safe RTW. This process helps to
avoid unreasonable and unnecessary restrictions hindering the effective
RTW process
Case Management
1) Sequential testing and monitoring of the injured worker using
the JFM system. By testing at regular intervals and maintaining
communication with physicians, the RTW process progressess
efficiently by increasing the workers physical work responsibilities
as they are safely able to do so, facilitating a safe and efficient RTW.
2) Communication with rehab providers in the community
inorder to ensure that they are focusing on RTW as the main goal
of their treatment plans.
Disability Management and Resolution
1. Review of disability cases in order to determine viability for RTW.
2. Functional Capacity Assessments to determine the current state of
disability followed by job matching to determine if there is suitable employment to offer at that time.
