Expert Witness Services for Workplace Injuries
In preparation for a workers compensation suit, one of the most important pieces of information to have is an accurate and organized Functional Job Description.
Industrial Motions, Inc. can provide you with this information.
We use a system of developing Functional Job Descriptions which quantifies the physical demands of the job, and places them into logical functional components.
The parameters measured are placed into categories which correspond to the format commonly seen on functional capacity evaluations.
Forces are measured
Positions are stated
Specific/special requirements are noted (ie. Shelf heights, tools used, complex tasks)
Frequencies the tasks are performed are determined
Once the FJD is developed, it is validated by a qualified employee currently performing the job. This gives an additional factor of credibility to the assessment.
Following assessment of the job, consultation can be made as to the risks associated with performing the job in the context of the suit brought forth by the plaintiff. Industry standard ergonomic risk assessment tools can be used to quantify risk of injury due to ergonomic factors.
The assessing therapist can also provide deposition, or appear in court to testify to the accuracy of the job description, and provide information to the court from the perspective of a licensed health care provider experienced in the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of workplace musculoskeletal injuries.
